PUBG Mobile’s name change process is straightforward but costs UC — the game’s premium currency. This guide covers every step, how to get free rename opportunities, and how to create a stylish name within PUBG’s character limits.
What Is a PUBG Rename Card?
Two things need to be ready before opening the game:
1. A Rename Card. This is required to change your name. It costs 180 UC in the shop or can be obtained free through events and achievements.
2. Your new name — already copied. Go to TextChic’s PUBG Stylish Name Generator before launching the game. Generate, choose, and copy your style. Keep it between 3 and 16 characters.
Step-by-Step: How to Change Your PUBG Mobile Name
- Step 1 — Generate your stylish PUBG name
Go to TextChic’s PUBG Name Generator. Type your desired gamertag. Browse through the 260+ style options and copy your favourite. Gaming styles and gothic borders work best for PUBG. - Step 2 — Buy or locate your Rename Card
Open PUBG Mobile. Tap the Shop icon at the bottom of the lobby. Find Rename Card under the Resources or Items section. It costs 180 UC. If you already have one from a previous event, skip this step. - Step 3 — Go to your Profile
Tap your avatar photo or player icon in the top-left corner of the lobby screen. This opens your full profile page. - Step 4 — Tap the edit icon
You will see your current name displayed. Next to it is a small pencil or edit icon. Tap it to open the name editing screen. - Step 5 — Clear, paste, and confirm
Delete your current name from the field. Long-press inside the text box and select Paste. Your TextChic stylish name will appear. Tap Confirm. One Rename Card will be consumed and your new name saves immediately.

Paying 180 UC every time adds up. Here are legitimate ways to get free Rename Cards:
- Achievement rewards: PUBG Mobile gives Rename Cards as milestone achievement rewards. Check your Achievements list — you may have one waiting.

- New player rewards: New accounts sometimes receive a free Rename Card in the starter pack during the first week.
Stylish PUBG Name Ideas

Generate all of these at TextChic — type your name and pick from 260+ styles.

Between 3 and 16 characters. This is more generous than Free Fire’s 12-character limit, giving more room for stylish symbols and borders.

Yes, through achievements, events, and new player packs. Check the Events tab and Achievements list regularly for free Rename Cards.
Do stylish fonts work in PUBG Mobile?
Yes. TextChic’s Unicode fonts work in PUBG Mobile. If a name is rejected, try a simpler style with fewer special characters.
Why is my name change not working?
Check three things: name is shorter than 3 or longer than 16 characters, contains a blocked word or symbol, or you do not have a Rename Card in your inventory.
Does PUBG name change apply to BGMI?
No. BGMI and PUBG Mobile are separate game versions with separate accounts. A name change in one does not affect the other.
